Details – Getjar is currently constructing the first phase of this development which involves the construction of a new enlarged store for Sainsbury’s with two levels of car parking beneath the store at basement and ground floor levels. The Store floor is at First floor level with a mezzanine over part of the store area; above which is a substantial podium transfer slab supported on a very large 16m x 16m grid through the store. Wrapping around two sides and on the roof of the store there are a number of residential blocks rising up to 18 floors many of which overlook the River Thames. The supermarket service yard and car park slabs are post tensioned with the upper floors of the residential areas constructed in traditional reinforced concrete. Once the new store is operational the old one will be demolished and further residential blocks will be constructed on the site of it.
