With the staff and expertise intrinsic within our business, we are able to offer a fully integrated construction service from planning appraisals and budgets to 3-D modeling, design appraisals, value engineering and programming. Our pre- construction teams remain involved during the construction phase on site to ensure that there is continuity and integrated management of the entire process from tendering to completion. The ability to provide a complete substructure and superstructure package for our clients also allows them to minimize their management and co-ordination role they need to undertake on site, and our ultimate success is based upon providing a quality product for our trusted clients to ensure we collectively achieve their defined goals of the project.
The reinforced concrete frame division of the business has developed to cover all aspects of this specialized construction sector including standard RC Frames, post-tensioned concrete structures, jump formed and slip formed cores, and pre- cast concrete elements. We continually strive to incorporate innovative products, designs and processes into the business to ensure we remain one of the leading concrete contractors in London and the South East of England. By utilizing our in-house temporary works department, we are able to produce efficient designs tailored to our Clients specific needs, and this is further supported by the use of our own extensive range of formwork and plant equipment. Our flexible and proactive approach and commitment to delivering a quality product has allowed us to create a client portfolio, based on repeat business, that includes Main Contractors and Developers across all sectors of the construction industry, building a variety of structures from deep extensive basements to schools and academies to multi-storey residential and commercial blocks.
Our groundworks division has seen steady and progressive growth and allows us to offer a fully integrated construction service, often achieving programme and financial benefits, particularly on projects where we are also carrying out the reinforced concrete superstructure works. We have completed groundworks contracts ranging from simple pile cap and ground beam arrangements to multi- storey basements on challenging city centre sites. By securing the services of our key sub-contractors for the likes of sheet and bored piling, design and supply of temporary works, bulk excavations and specialist dewatering, we are also able to offer a fully coordinated substructure package. Our range of groundwork specific plant such as excavators, dumpers, breakers and rollers are all continually serviced and maintained by our in house plant company, Glencoe Ltd, to ensure it remains fully certified and efficient.
Where it is necessary for a reinforced concrete core to be constructed ahead of the surrounding frame we are able to utilise our own plant and equipment to Jumpform the structure. This essentially allows the walls to be taken off the critical path and the programme and construction sequence to be simplified accordingly.
In some cases the reinforced concrete core needs to be constructed as quickly as possible and on a number of projects we have utilised silpform construction to achieve this. The core is encapsulated within a shroud of formwork and contiunuous concrete pouring throughout the working day allows the core to progress independently of the surrounding structure.
As a CARES approved contractor we are also able to carry out the construction of post-tensioned concrete frames. In conjunction with our design partners this can range from an initial design & construction appraisal to a full design, supply & installation service if required.
Getjar were one of the first concrete frame contractors in the country to use climbing protection screens and now the majority of multi-storey towers within London and other cities use some sort of rising protection screen. Our in-house plant hire company, Glencoe has invested in a number of these screens which we can adapt to a variety of building shapes & sizes. The screens we own also have the added benefit of providing space for advertising if the Client wishes to utilise this option.
Getjar have their own in-house temporary works department that can carry out falsework & formwork designs for much of the plant and equipment that we own. This allows us to have a pro- active approach to construction methodology and systems whilst also providing a quick and efficient service in the production of temporary works design & appraisals.
Our CAD designers are able to utilise the structural engineers drawings and our own construction programme to produce 3D timeslice designs that illustrate the construction process. This also allows design discrepancies or construction issues to be identified at an early stage and well before works have commenced on site.
We can offer a full design appraisal and value engineering service by utilising both in-house expertise and external partners to review the efficiency and practicality of the concrete frame design. This early involvement has allowed us to influence designs before they become too advanced which has resulted in cost and time savings on various schemes to the benefit of all the parties involved. If required we can also undertake design or detailing to offer a design & construct package on elements or whole schemes depending on how the Client prefers to split responsibilities.
With a wholly owned plant stock worth in-excess of £10 million, our in-house plant hire company Glencoe Plant Services Limited stocks all the necessary plant, tools, and equipment to facilitate the smooth running of Getjar Limited ranging from small tools & falsework equipment to excavators, concrete pumps and tower cranes. In order to maintain a safe and professional range of plant and equipment, Glencoe regularly replenishes and upgrades its stock and enforces a strict inspection, check, report, record, and repair programme on all equipment.
